I studied Art History briefly at New York University just to learn more about my favorite artists; real ones like Monet and Van Gogh. At age 22, I flew to Paris alone and visited the Louvre. I have also spent many days roaming the Met while living in New York. Art has always been an interest, and I began painting to fulfill a personal need, while decorating my own home. I wanted large, bold pieces. I still have my first painting hanging on my wall. To this day, it continues to draw compliments and the belief that some well-known artist painted it.
I have had only a few trips to the framer. The times my art has left the house convinced me to try and market it. I often get stopped and asked if it is for sale. People insist on seeing more. It is a huge compliment to be able to simply paint and be appreciated. I saw a poster and laughed, because it described me to a T. It read, "I am an Artist. This means I live in a perverse fantasy world with unrealistic expectations. Thank you for understanding."
